Our thoughts are with our many friends on the East Coast of the United States. To give you an idea of the size of this storm, below is a satellite picture.
Below is a picture of the Bayville Bridge at Bayville, on the north shore of Long Island, New York. I have traveled under this bridge many times. Typically, at high tide, the clearance is roughly 10 feet. As you can see, this morning, there's less than 3 feet of clearance - and the water was still rising! I have received word that the road to the left of the bridge was washed out.
