Pope Benedict Resigns

The Pope announced today that he is resigning! This is something that almost never happens. The last time was more than 600 years ago under extreme conditions.

Pope Benedict says that he simply doesn't feel up to the challenge of leading 1.2 billion Catholics. The way I see it, he's not thinking of himself, he's thinking about his Papal responsibility.  Personally, I applaud his honesty.

The Church needs an energetic leader who can lead and relate with world leaders. I don't see anything wrong with his resignation. It's not a common move, but, we aren't living in common times.
