I'll make this brief because you already heard about this. President Obama, speaking at a White House dinner celebrating Ramadan, said that he is in favor of allowing an Islam center to be located near ground zero.
You have your opinion.
I have some questions:
Are the people behind the Islam center sensitive, at all, to anything, much less the somber meaning of "Ground Zero?"
Why there? New York is a big beautiful (in areas) city with many, many suitable locations for this Islam center.
Why would anyone "set up business" in an area where they are not wanted?
I used to live in New York. I remember an obscure saying - "If you campaign hard enough, you may get elected."
Or, in other words, despite what President Obama says, it is not a good idea to piss off large numbers of New Yorkers.
