Dodgers Want To Keep Brooklyn Trademark

This is an odd one. As many of you may know, the Brooklyn Dodgers left Brooklyn 1n 1957. Now, 53 years later, Brooklyn Burger wants to use the trademark that you see in the picture.
Earlier this year, the Brooklyn Burger trademark was approved. Major League Baseball steps in, on behalf of the Dodgers, to file a "Notice Of Opposition" with the trademark office.

The team "shafts" Brooklyn and 53 years later, they want to hold on to the "Brooklyn" trademark?

By the way, the "logo" is commonly used by Borough President Marty Markowitz, the Brooklyn Cyclones, a pork store in Flatlands, a couple who make Brooklyn Jew T-shirts and countless others. In a 1993 case, a Manhattan judge ruled that Brooklyn Dodger Sports Bar and Restaurant in Bay Ridge could use the name after the Los Angeles Dodgers sued.

Maybe the Dodgers should concentrate on playing baseball....
