If you live near Gadsten, South Carolina and you were hoping to buy some raccoon meat at the Lucky 7 store...you're out of luck.
According to a report from Reuters, South Carolina State food inspectors acted on a tip and ordered that the raccoon meat be removed. The report did not say WHY. You see, there's no law in SC against selling the stuff - but state and federal officials do not certify it as being safe for human consumption.
I live in a part of the world where hunting is common. The more I think about it....
store bought raccoon meat is just weird!
