Happy St. Patrick's Day! When you think of it, St. Patrick's Day doesn't make much sense as it is, of course, a celebration for the Irish on the feast day of their country's patron saint. Every year, St. Patrick's Day falls during Lent. This is a personal issue among Christians, where the partying sometimes stops at Mardi Gras. The seriousness of Lent limits much of the possible church sponsored partying. The remedy is to commercialize the day. Around here, there have been St. Patrick's Day parties, parades and activities all weekend.

I should mention the picture on the left. Yesterday, I Googled "Irish Babe" and this was the coolest thing on the page of results! So, Happy St. Patrick's day. Enjoy some corned beef and cabbage, a glass of Harp and maybe a couple shots of Jameson's.
