This is unique. The dog tag mobile at The National Veterans Art Museum in Chicago is stunning and breathtaking. It is hard to walk past it. Most people stay near it, looking at it from many angles as it shifts with the air currents that exist when people walk in and out and about. The sound of the dog tags tinkling is hauntingly beautiful... Like the sound of Taps- takes your breath away and makes you remember. The "Wall" in D.C. contains 58,151 names. Add to that, more than 200,000 who died of cancer from Agent Orange. The display in Chicago has a single black dog tag to remember those who died as a result of their service in Viet Nam.
Saturday, March 29, is Viet Nam Veterans Day. We at the blog honor the dead and pay tribute to the survivors. Both groups paid a price. Thank you, guys and welcome "back to the world."
