Kutcher Replaces Sheen On "Men"

It was made official, today, that Ashton Kutcher will replace Charlie Sheen on TV's Two And A Half Men. You may remember that Sheen was fired from the show when he went on a series of lengthy rants criticizing the show's producer.  This is a big deal because after 8 seasons, "Men" is still the most watched sitcom on network TV.

There's a lot of money at stake!

Enough money to pay Kutcher $1 Million per episode! Will it work? It depends. It depends how Kutcher is written into the storyline. If we can believe it....the excellent writing that "Men" has always had, will take over.

My point is that, historically, even the best sitcoms of any era have a life of roughly 9 years. Years ago, it would be common to produce more than two dozen episodes for a season. Now, half that amount are made and aired over and over and over and over.

It's all about the money.
