Spears Turns Down $10 Million From X Factor?

So, the story is that Britney Spears has turned down a $10 million offer to host the 2012 season of X Factor in the U.S.

Reading the Internet reports, I'm not sure if she is being offered the hosting job or the job of a judge. It doesn't matter. $10 million for either job (or both) is an obscene amount of money. Concerning her talent or lack of it...it doesn't matter. She is selling her name - nothing else.

I'd like to point to what is really going on, here. Unless I am wrong (it's possible, but not likely) Simon Cowell needs a host for the show by the first week of May. This is so he and his people can offer a "pitch" to the advertisers. He will also need a solid lineup for the show's recording schedule - this would need to be done by the end of May.

The Britney "story" is a fake! Cowell and his people are succeeding in getting FREE publicity for the show by releasing this story. Britney will probably sign with the show. For how much? They will claim that it is for more than $10 million, but it could be for any amount. It's best not to believe the numbers - the number of viewers or the salary amount - it's all hype and means nothing unless you believe it.

So what will happen? I think Britney will join the show. X Factor will be a flop in comparison with The Voice. Personally, I think that Cowell "jumped the shark" when he left American Idol. Some people would argue, but will all of Simon Cowell's money, it's hard to know when he's failing.

I'll be watching DVRed episodes of Judge Joe Brown!
