A salute to Art Carney on the anniversary of his birth

It's hard to believe that there are two generations of people roaming the Earth who have no idea of who Art Carney was. Well, today, November 4th, is his birthday. He, of course, is no longer with us, but much of his work survives. The following is a clip from The Honeymooners. Carney played Ed Norton, opposite Jackie Gleason....

A couple of things.  The Honeymooners was recorded with a live audience.
(Not a live audience watching a recording.)

Did you notice Art Carney walking with a limp?
He was wounded at the Battle of Normandy during WWII.

The song is "The Hucklebuck" by Kay Starr

I am proud to say that I am from Art Carney's hometown of Mount Vernon, New York.
It's a real good place to be from.
