February saw a setback for the President and all of those "green" people who are rooting for the success of the electric car.
In February, Chevrolet sold only 281 Volts. Nissan sold a whopping 67* Leafs. (Leaves?)(...)
It should be noted that President Obama spent $2.4 billion in stimulus money on grants and tax breaks to boost electric car production, and pledged in January to get "a million electric vehicles on the road by 2015."
At the rate they're selling today, we should hit that benchmark in about 900 years.
I'm not advocating this, but if he raises the price of gas $10/gallon...he'll sell a lot more electric cars!
*In February, the dealership where I work outsold the Nissan Leaf, nationwide!
