Lindsay Blankmeyer: Roomie's sex was too much. |
Having spent four years in a college dorm and three years in an Army barracks, I find this story especially interesting. 22 year old Lindsay Blankmeyer says that Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. did nothing to help her as she was subjected to her roommate's frequent alleged inappropriate sexual behavior.
She says it drove her into depression. Blankmeyer is seeking $150,000 in damages in the suit, which was filed Wednesday at U.S. District Court in Massachusetts, citing violations of the Rehabilitation Act, the federal Fair Housing Act Amendments, and Massachusetts anti-discrimination laws. She says she found it necessary to drop out of school, during her senior year, because her roommate "would have sex with her boyfriend while [Lindsay] was trying to sleep just a few feet away," and would also "engage in sexually inappropriate video chatting" while Blankmeyer was in the room.
This reminds me that I should probably apologize to some former roommates - Benny, Randy, Woody...sorry guys!
