I spent a lot of time in school, but I don't think I ever saw this before. A 47 year old 7th grade teacher in California was arrested for teaching while intoxicated.
Tonya Neff was arrested, last week, by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department at Toro Canyon Middle School in Thermal CA. She was booked for investigation of felony child endangerment.
Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Tapp says Neff had taken prescription drugs and alcohol and an alcoholic beverage was found inside a container.
Coachella Valley school district Superintendent Ricardo Medina says there was never a threat to Neff's seventh-grade students. Neff has been placed on leave.
